TCES Past Conferences
TCES 2006 at Sheffield
The conference was hosted by the Engineering Materials Department at the University of Sheffield. The local organiser was Dr John Haycock.

The first TCES Early Stage Investigator Award (for researchers less than eight years out of their PhD) went to Dr Matthew Dalby, Centre for Cell Engineering, University of Glasgow. His talk was entitled 'Nanoscale stem cell engineering and topographical mechanotransduction'.

The 1st poster prize went to Miss Kathryn Lazenby from The Open University and University College London for her poster 'Astrocyte responses to dorsal root ganglia in 3-dimensional co-culture models'.

The 2nd poster prize went to Dr Umber Cheema from University College London for her poster 'Mechanical loading determines collagen fibril diameter independent of cell activity'.

The 3rd poster prize went to Mr Mark Ahearne from the University of Keele for his poster 'Mechanical characterisation of UVA-riboflavin crosslinked collagen hydrogels'.
